Maction Planet appointed Official Hospitality Partner to Brave and Bold
Maction Planet and Brave and Bold are proud to announce that Maction Planet has been appointed Official Hospitality Partner to Brave and Bold, Japan’s premier “artist alley” event.
Volume one of Brave and Bold was held in October 2016 in Akihabara, Tokyo. For Volume two, to be held on May 6 and 7, the event moves to a much-larger space, the Kawasaki Sangyou Shinkou Kaikan in Kawasaki, with guest of honour Michael Golden joined by Stephanie Hans, Ariela Kristantina, Takeshi Miyazawa, Rian Gonzales, as well as an incredible line-up of homegrown talent such as Shinji Nishikawa, Kamome Shirahama and Junichi Hayama, amongst others.
“As Brave and Bold expands, I knew I needed to work with a company to help take care of our guests who have come from far and wide, and for many of them this is their first visit to Tokyo. The level of service, knowledge and customer experience that Maction Planet provides is second-to-none. One just has to look at their reviews on TripAdvisor to see the quality of testimonials they generate. Maction Planet have looked after artists who have come to Japan for previous events, and their feedback has been outstanding, to say the least.” said Yoshimichi Majima, showrunner of Brave and Bold.
“It also helps that Mac personally is one of the most respected American Comic Book Fans in Tokyo, and has great relationships himself with many members of the artist community in the US, UK, Asia and beyond.”
“I am incredibly honoured that Maction Planet has been chosen out of all the travel companies in Tokyo to partner with Brave and Bold” said Mac, Founder of Maction Planet. “The underlying ethos of our two companies is identical – great experiences, great customer service, and great fun!”
“I came to Tokyo for the first time last year for the first Brave and Bold, and could not have wished for a better guide than Mac from Maction Planet. His knowledge of the city is second to none, and his customer service is beyond reproach. Who else can tell you when every temple was first built, find you a 1968 Gamera, handle all your food requests and karaoke with you until 2am?! I have travelled the world and cannot wait to return to Tokyo.” said Ken Lashley, legendary artist, currently working on X-Men Prime, one of Marvel Comics’ biggest selling books, amongst other projects.
Maction Planet will be providing its brand of unique, fully-customised experiences to visiting artists at Brave and Bold, and their families. They will also be helping overseas visitors to Japan acquire tickets to the event. Ticket purchasers for Brave and Bold will benefit from discounts on Maction Planet Travel Experiences and their fast-expanding apparel range.
Maction Planet recently interviewed Majima-san as part of their ‘Mac on Tokyo’ series, bringing you the characters which make up The World’s Greatest Metropolis. In the interview, Mac and Yoshi discuss Brave and Bold Volume 2, their partnership, and future plans for changing the face of Tokyo’s american comic book scene.
Maction Planet can incorporate ‘Otaku’ experiences into your fully-customised Tokyo itinerary – visits to the largest manga and anime stores in the city, Maid Cafe experiences, cosplay photography, secret otaku bars… and much more. For further information, contact info@mactionplanet.com
